PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE CHILD

Physical activity is a totally essential factor in the development of a person and even more so when it is a child. Karate and martial arts in general, cover 100% of these needs, providing a balanced and harmonious development to all its followers.

Karate, unlike other sports, is not limited to purely physical development, no less important is the psychological and mental development of its students. The standards of all those who practice martial arts are defined in the "Dojo Kun", which is a compendium of the values that each karate student should meet.

These goals are achievable through physical and mental training based on the art, whose roots are more than a thousand years old. The ultimate goal is to find a perfect balance between mind and body, between the "sacred" and the "profane", the "Yin" and the "Yang"?

If all this sounds too abstract, one can also describe the benefits of studying martial arts, saying that they strengthen the body and mind, improve speed, coordination, strength, while providing security and self-confidence.

Karate teaches and educates, and as everything has to have its beginning, the study of martial arts begins with the physical forms in order to arrive with the passage of time to discover its true meaning that will change our lives forever, in almost all aspects, because then we will simply be better people.

The great karate master Gichin Funakoshi said: "karate ni sente nashi" "karate never attacks first". This famous phrase defines the essence of martial arts that are an art of self-defense and not of aggression, therefore never attack first, only allow to defend oneself successfully. The "Dojo" (martial arts school) is an environment where students can learn through instructors and peers, the elementary values such as: discipline, teamwork, and sacrifice.

Referring to adults, the "Dojo" brings together people of different ages, professions and social groups, which favors and forges the ability to cooperate towards the same goals and objectives. In short, karate teaches to be competitive and at the same time, to be part of a group of friends.

Although it is an individual discipline, young students paradoxically learn to compete and cooperate in the same group, which then translates into many of them succeeding in adult life, within a company, where it is essential to be able to bring these two values together in a balanced way, not to mention the self-confidence that gives impetus to all our projects. The mystique of martial arts makes people who practice this sport feel unique, since at least, a part of their lives is also unique, providing them with "catharsis" that purifies their minds of problems and daily worries, giving them a necessary impulse to face the following days.

Karate training is based on discipline, perseverance and concentration while teaching us to be responsible, which translates directly to the significant improvement in the results that children and adolescents obtain in the school educational process. Karate teaches breathing control, corrects posture and provides balance to the body.

All of this is reflected in the belts of different colors, each of which has its meaning, indicating the point of the "path" in which the karateka is.

Karate can be practiced from the age of 5 years old to infinity, it is a path that can accompany us for the rest of our life, filling it with emotions and strength, both physical and mental. Not everyone is aware that karate is one of the branches of dynamic yoga.

Within the world of martial arts, Kyokushin Karate occupies a privileged place, being the largest and strongest martial art in the world, with more than 40 million followers in 125 countries around the world! However, it is also the most demanding, and for this reason only a few become teachers and masters, which translates into a great demand among interested people. Relatively few centers can offer this activity.
